The Ministry of Health has informed us as we are outside Canterbury DHB to priorities maintain 12-15 month and 4 year old as usual.
- Children aged 12 months or older are considered 'fully immunised against measles when they have two documented MMR vaccinations.
- Infants aged 6-11 months can have an MMR vaccination prior to travel to a country with a measles outbreak. Travel to Canterbury not currently considered to carry the same level of risk as travel to countries with serious measles outbreak.
- Adults born before 1969 are considered immune to measles as the prevalent and circulating widely prior to introduction of a measles vaccine in 1996.
