MMR Update

The Ministry of Health has informed us as we are outside Canterbury DHB to priorities maintain 12-15 month and 4 year old as usual.

  1. Children aged 12 months or older are considered 'fully immunised against measles when they have two documented MMR vaccinations.
  2. Infants aged 6-11 months can have an MMR vaccination prior to travel to a country with a measles outbreak. Travel to Canterbury not currently considered to carry the same level of risk as travel to countries with serious measles outbreak.
  3. Adults born before 1969 are considered immune to measles as the prevalent and circulating widely prior to introduction of a measles vaccine in 1996.
